Malayalam psychological thriller Unmadham began streaming on SonyLIV on September 4, 2026, following its theatrical release on July 31. The Unmadham SonyLIV listing identifies Kunchacko Boban, Lijomol Jose and Siddique among the lead cast.
SonyLIV’s official page describes the film as the story of a police constable drawn back to a long-forgotten unsolved case. As he investigates, hidden information forces him to confront events and beliefs connected to his past.
Unmadham SonyLIV release details
The film is directed by Kiran Das. Kunchacko Boban plays police constable Shelly, with Lijomol Jose appearing as Sowmya. The supporting ensemble includes Siddique, Sudheesh, Sabumon Abdusamad and other Malayalam performers.
Reports said the streaming edition would be offered in Malayalam along with Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada options. Actual audio and subtitle availability should be confirmed on the platform for the viewer’s account and region.
From theatres to home viewing
The September 4 digital release came roughly five weeks after the July 31 cinema opening. That window moves the film to a wider home audience while preserving the distinction between its theatrical and streaming dates.
The film combines police investigation with psychological and apparently supernatural elements. Official descriptions avoid resolving whether the unsettling events have a supernatural explanation, so summaries should not reveal or invent an answer.
What viewers can verify
SonyLIV lists the full movie and provides cast, language and maturity-rating information. That official catalogue page is stronger evidence of current availability than a pre-release report or social-media poster.
The launch does not establish how many people have watched the film or whether it is commercially successful on streaming. Platforms typically do not provide complete title-level viewing data in real time.
The verified development is that Unmadham is available on SonyLIV from September 4 after its Malayalam theatrical run. Reviews and audience scores are opinions and are separate from the factual release information.
