Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are available for preorder in India following the opening of bookings on September 12, 2026. The company has scheduled general availability for September 18, after announcing the devices at its September 9 event.
Indian starting prices are ₹1,64,900 for the iPhone 18 Pro and ₹1,79,900 for the iPhone 18 Pro Max. Both entry configurations include 256GB of storage, according to Indian launch coverage.
iPhone 18 Pro prices and storage choices
The two models offer 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB storage capacities. Their colour options are black, silver, glacier and burgundy. The Indian Express and The Times of India reported the same starting prices and storage lineup.
The quoted starting prices apply to the lowest-storage versions. Higher-capacity configurations cost more, and a comparison between the Pro and Pro Max should use the same storage capacity.
Preordering is also separate from immediate retail availability. September 12 is the booking date announced by Apple; September 18 is the first availability date for India and other markets in the initial rollout.
Camera and processor changes
The headline camera change is a variable aperture on the 48-megapixel Fusion Main camera. Apple says this gives users additional control over how the camera captures an image, alongside new controls within the Camera app.
The devices use the A20 Pro chip and an updated vapour chamber. Apple also announced a smaller Dynamic Island and changes intended to improve sustained performance and battery life.
These are announced product features and company claims. They should not be read as results from independent testing of Indian retail units. Battery endurance and performance in everyday use will depend on conditions and usage.
Software is part of the launch
The new Pro models arrive with iOS 27 and Apple’s latest intelligence features. Apple describes Siri AI as a new version of its assistant and says it is rolling out in beta.
Availability of software features can depend on supported languages and regions. Buyers should check the feature information for their own device and location rather than assume that every capability mentioned in a global presentation is immediately available in India.
The iPhone 18 Pro announcement is distinct from Apple’s foldable iPhone Duo announcement at the same event. The Pro and Pro Max have their own September preorder and release timetable.
What the current announcement confirms
For Indian customers, the practical confirmed details are the two starting prices, four storage choices, four colours and September 18 availability date. Preorders opened a day before this report, rather than the phones being newly announced on September 13.
Retailer financing, exchange credits and bank offers may have separate eligibility conditions. The starting device prices cited here are not reduced by an assumed trade-in value or a promotional discount.
The next milestone in the announced rollout is general availability on September 18. Until then, preorder listings establish the configurations being offered, while independent reviews will provide additional evidence about real-world performance.
