UGC-NET June 2026 Re-Exam Results Released for Three Subjects

The National Testing Agency has released the UGC NET re-exam result for English, Commerce and Sociology candidates from the June 2026 examination cycle. Candidates can access their scorecards and the final answer keys through the official UGC-NET website.

The official portal listed the scorecard, final answer key and a notice declaring results for the three subjects on September 18. The Times of India independently reported the release and identified the same subjects.

UGC NET re-exam result now available

The results cover candidates who took the re-examinations for English, Commerce and Sociology on September 9 and 10, 2026. The remaining subjects from the June cycle had already proceeded through their separate result process.

Candidates should use the official UGC-NET portal rather than unofficial result pages. The site provides the scorecard link, final answer key and subject-wise cut-off information associated with the re-examination.

A scorecard is an individual record and may require the candidate’s application credentials. Applicants should check that personal details, subject information and displayed scores correspond with their examination record.

Why three subjects were examined again

NTA ordered fresh examinations for English, Commerce and Sociology after an expert review found problems in the original papers, according to earlier reporting by The Times of India. Reported issues included factual, language and translation errors.

The re-tests were conducted without an additional examination fee for affected candidates. Provisional answer keys were subsequently released, and candidates were given a window to submit challenges before the final keys and results were prepared.

The sequence matters: a provisional key can change after expert review of objections, whereas the final answer key is the basis used for the declared result. Candidates comparing their responses should therefore use the final version now displayed on the official portal.

What UGC-NET determines

UGC-NET is used to determine eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship, appointment as an assistant professor, assistant-professor eligibility combined with PhD admission, or PhD admission only, depending on a candidate’s performance and applicable rules.

Publication of a score does not by itself guarantee an appointment, fellowship or university admission. Candidates must meet the relevant category, cut-off and institutional requirements and should read the official notice associated with the result.

Steps candidates can take

Candidates can visit the official UGC-NET website and select the June 2026 re-exam scorecard link. They should download and retain a copy of the scorecard and final answer key for future reference.

If the portal is slow because of heavy traffic, candidates can try again later rather than entering credentials on an unrelated site. Any discrepancy should be raised through the contact or grievance channel listed by NTA.

The confirmed development is the release of results for the three re-examined subjects. Claims about individual qualification status should be based only on each candidate’s official scorecard and the published cut-offs.
