Maruti Suzuki Launches 2026 Baleno Facelift From ₹6.09 Lakh

Maruti Suzuki launched the Baleno facelift 2026 in India on September 5, with introductory ex-showroom pricing beginning at ₹6.09 lakh. The updated premium hatchback arrives ahead of the festive buying period with changes to its design, cabin technology and safety equipment.

Hindustan Times Auto reported the ₹6.09 lakh starting price, while other launch reports rounded it to ₹6.10 lakh. The small difference reflects rounding; buyers should rely on the official variant-specific price applicable in their city and confirm whether introductory pricing remains available.

Baleno facelift 2026: what changed

Maruti’s official NEXA product page highlights features including the SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a head-up display, wireless charging and a 360-degree camera. Launch coverage also identified new driver-assistance and comfort features on selected variants.

The facelift is an update to the second-generation Baleno introduced in 2022 rather than an entirely new model. Its purpose is to refresh a high-volume nameplate as Indian buyers increasingly consider feature-rich hatchbacks alongside compact sport-utility vehicles.

Pricing needs careful comparison

The headline price applies to the entry version and is ex-showroom. Registration, insurance, accessories and local taxes determine the on-road figure. Equipment also varies by variant, so features described for the range should not be assumed to be standard on every car.

Prospective buyers should compare the published variant list, powertrain choices, warranty and safety package before booking. Maruti’s sales network and NEXA website provide the authoritative configuration available at a particular location.

Why the launch matters for India’s car market

The Baleno competes in India’s premium hatchback segment against models including the Hyundai i20, Tata Altroz and Toyota Glanza. Updating the car gives Maruti a new proposition during a season when manufacturers traditionally intensify launches and promotions.

Google Trends’ India view showed “baleno” above normal search activity during the launch window, including queries for the 2026 facelift. That indicates immediate consumer interest, but search activity does not measure bookings, deliveries or market share.

The commercial test will come through monthly wholesale and retail data after deliveries begin. For now, the confirmed development is the September 5 launch and the announced introductory starting price, not any projection about sales leadership.
